No Waste, Recyled and Eco-Friendly Promises

A lot of packaging claims to be eco-friendly. Sometimes, it's greenwashing. Other times, it's accurate. But you're often unsure. We promise to use sustainable packaging helps prevent more materials from going into landfills, making it a great way to add an eco-friendly flair to your packaging. Below you can find new trends in packaging materials and their more common counterparts, so you can make the most informed choice for your brand.

Material Transparency
Please choose the right materials for your product packaging as per your local material requirements:
Recycled Paperboard
Printing on recycled paper rather than virgin paper eliminates the resource utilization and environmental impacts related to forestry, landfilling waste paper, and the production of paper from virgin pulp. The latter is also more water intensive than the production of deinked recycled fiber. In addition to reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills, recycling paper also cuts the production of landfill methane from decomposing waste, a major contributor to climate change. This alone has avoided the creation of more than 20 million metric tons of CO2 equivalents a year in the United States.
Bioplastics
Bioplastics do produce significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions than traditional plastics over their lifetime. There is no net increase in carbon dioxide when they break down because the plants that bioplastics are made from absorbed that same amount of carbon dioxide as they grew. A 2017 study determined that switching from traditional plastic to corn-based PLA would cut U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent. The study also concluded that if traditional plastics were produced using renewable energy sources, greenhouse gas emissions could be reduced up to 50 to 75 percent.
Corrugated Sheets
Corrugated paper is a great material to use because it’s eco-friendly, in most cases even safer than bubble wrap and it’s affordable. It’s similar to kraft paper, but designed with a specific texture that grips items and simultaneously cushions them—perfect for glass products and other fragile items.
Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is a good sustainable solution, as it is grown without the use of pesticides, from seeds which have not been genetically modified. Organic farming practices avoid using harmful chemicals while aiming for environmental sustainability and the use of fewer resources.
Hemp Paper
Hemp is 8x recyclable as compared to tree paper (upto 3x), biodegradable and compostable. Hemp stalks take 4 months to mature compared to 20-80 years for trees. It has 85% cellulose, the principal ingredient in paper, compared to wood (30%).
GreenWrap Honeycomb Paper
A plastic-free, curbside recyclable alternative to bubble wrap® that offers similar cushioning and protection. The white tissue paper liner and outer layer of white or brown expandable honeycomb paper are made from certified, sustainably sourced virgin paper. Artfully mold GreenWrap around your products to provide a beautiful presentation while taking up less room than traditional plastic bubbles.
Eggshell
Researchers and scientists at the American Chemistry Society recently figured out how to make nature’s perfect container into a type of bioplastic. The eggshells add strength to other forms of bioplastics and when combined, make the perfect eco-friendly, durable plastic alternative.Use this text to answer questions in as much detail as possible for your customers.
Seaweed
Seaweed is cool because not only is it innovative and environmentally friendly, but it’s also edible. Seaweed packaging is similar to paper and plastic films, and can even be turned into “plastic” bottles and food cartons. Recently, seaweed extracts have been used to provide edible capsules of water to runners. It’s cheap, currently accessible and it’s becoming more versatile everyday.
